Cyanotype Workshop - The Power of Memory

$60.00

Join us for a hands-on Cyanotype Workshop and discover the magic of one of the earliest photographic printing processes. Using sunlight and a light-sensitive solution, you'll create rich blue-and-white prints by arranging meaningful objects on specially prepared paper or fabric and exposing them to the sun.

Each participant will have the opportunity to create:

  • One cyanotype print on paper

  • One cyanotype print on fabric

This workshop invites you to honor your ancestors and loved ones through art. You're encouraged to bring meaningful items to incorporate into your prints, such as:

  • Family photographs (or copies)

  • Film negatives

  • Small memorabilia

  • Botanical materials

  • Lace, textiles, or heirloom fabrics

  • Objects that hold personal or ancestral significance

No experience is necessary, and all cyanotype materials will be provided in addition to my own personal archive of negatives and materials. Whether you're preserving memories, exploring a historic photographic process, or simply creating something beautiful, this workshop offers a thoughtful and creative space to connect with your personal story through the timeless art of cyanotype. If you have an image that you would like for me to print on film for you please email it at least 3 days before the workshop at platanogirls@gmail.com with the subject “Cyanotype Workshop (Date) Print”.

If you are interested in a private session or different date please also reach out to the email above.
